The Able Seafarer Engine course is intended for experienced engine-room ratings who want to develop the practical competence required to support marine engineering officers and undertake advanced engine-department duties.
The programme covers engine-room watchkeeping, machinery operation, routine maintenance, safe working practices, pollution prevention and emergency response. Training is structured with reference to STCW Regulation III/5 and Section A-III/5 of the STCW Code.
